We are extremely excited to announce that Galway Rovers FC has merging with one of the fastest growing premier clubs in the region, Intercontinental Football Academy of New England, known as IFA. 

 

Through this relationship we will gain a support structure that will allow our players and teams to compete at the highest levels possible. It will grant our players additional opportunities and pathways to MLS NEXT and NAL. Teaming up with IFA will also afford our staff additional coaching and administrative support to enhance player experience.

 

As a club, we will become IFA SOUTH SHORE. We are thankful that we will always have a nod to our strong Galway Rovers FC legacy while merging with IFA and we are fortunate to have the best case scenario moving forward. IFA and Galway philosophies are similar, making this transition very smooth. We will continue with our league, club structure, teams, management and coaching, but with advancements and improvements brought to us by IFA. IFA South Shore will retain home fields based out of Cohasset Sports Complex and Hingham Union Street fields.

 

What will change is the ability to play at higher levels than previously offered - larger opportunities and pathways for player advancement...and new uniforms! We are fortunate to be able to retain our mission, with the addition of the highest level of opportunities to offer our players.

 

This is an exciting time for current Galway players to become members of the IFA South Shore family. We look forward to a steady and rising future ahead, while always keeping player development and opportunities at the forefront.
